Designing a voice-based AI-resilient assessment tool to reinforce critical thinking

AI tools like ChatGPT make it easy for students to generate answers without engaging with the material, undermining traditional quizzes and essays as a way to measure real understanding. I designed an immersive, gamified assessment tool end-to-end that links to the LMS. It enables instructors to generate assessments that use socratic dialogue to probe understanding of course concepts, adapting in real time to gauge whether a student can critically engage with the course material. Students can access hints for guidance, annotate reference documents, and receive feedback in real time. Instructors can set up rubrics and learning objectives with AI-assisted setup, and receive summary statistics on student understanding at a glance.
